No one knows what the red drink was at the first Juneteenth celebrations. But as eleoquently details in hibiscus was a beloved red drink across the diaspora.

I first tasted it as sorrel in Trinidad and though I love Latin American jamaica, my favorite way to drink it is as Senegalese bissap. Just steep dried hibiscus with fresh mint and that’s it. Add a little stevia, raw honey and ice ice. Freeze it into a slushee or popsicle. (It’s also 🔥 with a lil gin or a fair stand in for red wine when you don’t want alcohol.)

Hibiscus tea is bright, refreshing and loaded with all kind of health benefits. Comment RED if you want to know more:-)🌺

3. blends Cab Franc with Cab Sauv, Malbec + Paseante Noir into a wine brimming with flowers + fruit

4. La Fête Rosé from Provence blends seven grapes including Grenache, Syrah and Cab for their refreshing rosé

Old wines are like old people. They’re full of surprises:-)
White wine with red meat sounds weird, but sometimes it works. The deep and bright notes in this 2008 Chenin Blanc are really vibing with the rare beef, Parmigiano Reggiano and arugula.
While we associate Chenin Blanc with the Loire , it’s a heritage grape in Napa Valley that’s making a comeback in a range of style. Curious? Check out Chenins from and

Have you tried Napa Valley Chenin Blanc lately?

Impressed with my first visit to in Atherton for a dinner. Fun conversation with tablemates including skateboarder turned winemaker about his expressive Pinot Noirs, Syrahs, Chardonnays and a rare Trousseau Noir that all told their own little stories of place.

Selby’s gives major Spruce vibes because it’s by the same team. Expect crisp service, updated takes on dishes like cassoulet and Parker House Rolls and a bar that’s a highlight of this modern, clubby restaurant.
Thanks for the invite 🥂

“Those who are not looking for happiness are the most likely to find it, because those who are searching forget that the surest way to be happy is to seek happiness for others.” - MLK Jr.

Sometimes I forget he did all this by age 39. Thank you Dr. King for living a life of purpose, so Black people like me have the opportunity to find happiness by serving others. 🙏🏾👑✊🏾
