Farid Karam Nassar, also known as FredWreck, is a Palestinian American music producer who grew up in Michigan (Hi Michiganders!) and has probably produced some of your favorite songs. His first big break came in 1996 from Dr. Dre. Looking for new talent to feature in the newly launched Aftermath Records, Dr. Dre was impressed by FredWreck’s beats and called him up. Fredwreck hung up on him, thinking it was a prank call. After realizing it was in fact Dr. Dre who had reached out, they talked through the misunderstanding, and the rest is music history. FredWreck’s career highlights include making music with top artists such as Lil Kim, Britney Spears, and Snoop Dogg. In 2020 FredWreck received his first Grammy Award for producing Anderson Paak’s album titled “Ventura.” We can’t wait to hear what he produces next.
