Our Story

HC (Honest Content) is founded and managed by, author and educator Hoda Rashad, who currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. An English Literature and Language teacher for over 12 years, Rashad shifted careers to the arts in 2012 when she wrote "Rising from Tahrir", a Creative Non-Fiction collection of ten individuals' stories from Egypt's 2011 revolution. The book was on Amazon's Best Sellers in Middle Eastern Literature for more than 4 years. It is also used as a reference in many undergraduate programs in the US including UC Berkley and San Jose State. Born in America in 1975, Rashad lived in Boston MA till the age of 8 before moving to Cairo, Egypt with her family. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Middle Eastern Studies and then continued on to earn an MA in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the American University in Cairo. She pursued a career in teaching for more than 12 years and worked as an educational consultant for over 7 years in Cairo, Egypt. Rashad moved to the US in 2005 with her family, where she continued to work as an educational consultant in private schools and corporate projects, until founding and running her own preschool project and teacher-based homeschooling program in the Bay Area. Rashad returned to writing and began actively Blogging in 2015. Her Blog "Notes From the Beaten Path" covers women and motherhood related issues. In January of 2017, Rashad launched the page "Honest Conversations" where she Vlogged regularly until being invited to give a TedX talk to Egyptian women in November of 2017. In December of 2017, two of the TedX Cairo team members invited Rashad to collaborate on an initiative to raise the quality of online Vlogging content. Rashad’s page transitioned from HC - Honest Conversations, to HC- Honest Content to accommodate a new Multi-Vlogger format. HC aims to create Vlogger Playlists from all around the world, from different walks of life, so we can share our stories of value with each other.

The Platform adopts budding vloggers financially and technically in an effort to build a presence for individuals with a message on Youtube, Facebook and other social media outlets.
