Volver a casa después de 9 años no fue lo que esperaba... 🇵🇪💔

Being Peruvian, I thought I knew exactly how to navigate my own country. But 9 years away changes things. I felt like a stranger in Cusco, especially when my signal cut out and I was more worried about Google Maps than being present with my family.

This time, I’m doing it differently. No more roaming that doesn’t even work. I’m using so I can keep my eyes on the views (and the food!) rather than my signal bars.

First Quechua class back and it went amazing 🇵🇪

It’s been over 6 years since I last took a class back when I was at UC Davis. I was honestly surprised they even had a full Quechua curriculum, and it ended up being such an amazing experience.

So this feels really special… I’m excited to be learning Quechua once more ☀️🇵🇪

Did you know a lot of the words you use in Spanish in Peru come from Quechua? 👀🇵🇪

From saying alalau when it’s cold to eating cancha with your food… Quechua is everywhere whether you realize it or not.

It’s fascinating how a language with such ancient roots is still part of our everyday life today.
