Today is release day again and there's a new drop from one of Switzerland's finest, torpedo. "What the fu**ed do we all do now? | - Lights" is hitting the streets and folks are stoked. While art/music can very effectively be delivered with blunt force, there's also so much fragility and nuance, and torpedo reminds us to pay close attention to both sides of the coin. They seem to have mastered this balancing act. I could go on an on about the band and this new record, but why don't you just check it out for yourself?

Opened up my email inbox this morning and was absolutely chuffed to see a piece from Bandcamp Daily featuring one of the artists I worked with (Fulu Kolektiv). Beyond just Fulu Kolektiv, the article covers a whole slew of contemporary music from Kinshasa, DRC. It's a killer read and the jams that are linked in the piece will start your day right. Check it out and get on the good foot. Big Thanks to Collin Smith for the words and for shining a light on the sounds coming from this part of the world.

I've been keeping this under my hat, but I am absolutely thrilled to now announce the forthcoming release on Broken Clover Records...Olimpiada, the new record from Olivares (Madrid, ES), will be hitting the streets on February 14 and we're currently taking pre-orders. To help us/you bask in this glow and get a glimpse under the hood (and in to the psyche of the artist), It's Psychedelic Baby Magazine asked Olivares (a founding member of the Madrid-based krautrock outfit, TUTUPATU) a few questions AND are providing streaming access to track #3, "Halma".

Something occurred to me the other day and it kind of knocked my socks off…we have a new release dropping on February 14 and that will mark 5 years (to the day) since we released the very first record on the label (a self-titled ripper from Zachary Blizzard). There have been so many points along the way that I thought this thing would fold, but here we are.

Well, to celebrate and to thank everyone who has helped me hit this milestone, I have a gift for you. Between now and February 14, if you purchase any five records of your choosing, you can pick another five records and I will send them to you at no cost. I will also cover the additional shipping that is incurred, regardless of where in the world you are ordering from. I recently received an email from Kendon Luscher, the mastermind behind the "Cool Stuff" column (courtesy of Bearded Gentlemen Music), letting me know he's launching a new music recommendation newsletter called "Poison-Free Pizza Party". He also mentioned that he's been so excited about the music that's come out the last two weeks that he couldn't help but post a pre-launch recommendation list. Weekly Slice
If you’re familiar with the Cool Stuff column, Weekly Slice will vibe pretty similar. He listens to an absurd amount of albums each week and recommends only the ones he absolutely loved.

Out of these picks, he narrows down some finalists for Slice of the Week. Only one album gets that honor. And for that album, he writes a short review.

What’s a little different with Weekly Slice versus Cool Stuff is that the short review will be especially short because I’m adding an additional column…

Monthly Party Pizza
At the end of each month, each Slice of the Week winner is a finalist for the Monthly Party Pizza. It’s a column where he gives his favorite album of the month the longer review and attention it deserves.

That’s right, it’s a whole party pizza where only his absolute top favorite albums of the month are invited to chow down. And the best album gets to eat until it pukes.
