ITCOYOR 🌠
before we graduated, and I cooked up a plan to approach mylesie like an “extended art project”. no major goal in mind, no numbers we were aiming for, no people we were trying to make notice us. just a continuous project where we gave ourselves unlimited time to create something from scratch together.
for over a year afterwards we met on late nights after work and mapped out ideas driven by cool s**t we saw online or movies and comics we loved growing up. the end result was 12 sick ass mini movies that were shot, edited, and colored by the two of us (with a little help from our friends along the way)
being in the social media age gets me so freaked out about numbers and individual perceptions that i forget the best part is making something tangible with one of your best friends and giving it the legs to outlive you. cencere helped me remember that.
releasing indie music has always been kinda cringe. making stuff online and allowing yourself to be perceived has always been kinda cringe. but what’s more cringe is not giving yourself the allowance to run free and create something with your whole heart in it. in that sense i love being kinda cringe, and i love being mylesie. no amount of online nonchalance is gonna change that in any meaningful way.
thank you for listening to ‘itcoyor’ and ‘finally’. thank you for watching our videos. this is far from the last thing we’ll make together. next one is gonna be sick. (probably)
