Elyce knew from a young age that she didn’t want a desk job where she was doing the same thing every day. But, as her mother says, “she never outgrew of the “why” phase” because she has always been curious about the world and wants to learn. She thrives on fast-paced, high-impact, continuous learning and being in the room where the big stories are being told. Elyce has two decades of experience wo

rking as a tv reporter, anchor, and producer at NBC, ABC, and CBS stations on the west and east coasts. She’s an Emmy, Associated Press, National Headliner Award-winning journalist, a host, and a media consultant. In front of the camera, she has logged hundreds of hours of live television and conducted thousands of on-camera interviews. Her reporting as an investigative journalist has prompted state and federal legislative change, improved safety standards, and forced policy change. Diablo Magazine also highlighted Elyce for her achievements in the "40 Under 40" Issue. She now uses her experience to coach clients on how to exude more confidence and command on television, digital platforms, and in front of audiences. Elyce reveals to clients the questions most likely to be asked and then helps them formulate the most compelling quotes, sound bites, and company messaging to incorporate into their responses. She loves empowering clients to engage in the chess match that is journalism. Long before any media interaction, she helps clients figure out what their story is and how to say it to get people to listen and pay attention. Providing sound strategies for handling crises is also a resource she has developed at Timeline Media Group. Elyce is also an expert in public speaking and has hosted high-profile live events. As part of her coaching, she helps clients find their authentic narrative and then teaches the necessary skills to enable them to deliver it with confidence and persuasiveness. Elyce is a fourth-generation San Francisco native who attended St. She is a former Division One college athlete who received soccer scholarships at Tulane University and at the University of Oregon, where she attended her freshman year. In addition, she earned a master’s degree in journalism from Boston University and a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Business from Tulane University in New Orleans. When she’s not working with clients, Elyce enjoys spending time with her husband and her two daughters and coaching youth soccer.

Everyone’s posting their 2016... so here’s mine.

The comeback year.

I’d almost died in labor (Feb 2015) then took 9 months to recover.

But 2016? I was back at NBC Bay Area. Made Diablo Magazine’s 40 Under 40. Balancing breaking news and motherhood.

Then 2017 took my hearing. And with it, my nearly two decades TV career. But losing the ability to report forced me to teach everything I’d learned.

Timeline Media Group was born from what felt like my lowest point. Now I help executives nail interviews, craft messages, and get coverage-using the same skills and network I built over two decades at NBC, CBS, and ABC.

Sometimes the ending you didn’t choose becomes the beginning you didn’t know you needed.

What did YOUR 2016 look like?

These photos popped up on my phone today, reminding me that I made the trek ten years ago to see posters of the newly launched Investigative Unit for plastered throughout BART stations. (There were also billboards.)

It was my first job as an investigative reporter (previously, in my career, I had been an anchor and general assignment reporter), AND it was in my hometown.

Here is what I remember about that day:
-I was incredibly proud, and it was slightly surreal.
-My daughter had a full-blown toddler meltdown (she was two and is now 12).
-I didn’t have any time to appreciate the career milestone I was achieving as an investigative reporter in one of the top media markets in the country. At the time, I was running for my life every day.

Today, I am so grateful for what I learned during that period in my life.

-The art of an interview.
-How to research and dive deep into storytelling.
-How journalists can hold people accountable. (Proudly, I had legislation introduced and laws changed due to my reporting and picked up some awards like an Emmy.)

But those were hard years…killing it at work and also struggling to be a present mom.

To tired working moms, I see you.

I made a living being on live tv every day, and there are still days when I don't want to show up for a virtual video call.

➡️ But, when given a choice between a phone or a video call, I ALWAYS chose Video.

🎥 Video gives you a chance to connect in a more meaningful way. However, that only works if you put some effort in. ⤵️

1. Come on, put on a decent shirt, even if you wear PJs from the waist down. Environmental psychology experts say that if you are underdressed, you are much more likely to underperform. No hoodies, please.

2. Stretching can do wonders even if you don't have much time— bend over, touch your feet or touch the ground (or as close as you can get). Breathe and ground yourself!

3. Make sure your whole body is awake! Move your face around and get your mouth moving. It is especially vital if you have an early morning video.

⭐ Everything I share with you, I have taught c-suite executives who have appeared on national and international media. I'm also a former tv reporter with two decades of on-air experience.

I am booking into 2022, and spots are filling up fast.
