CREATIVITY issue includes a long interview with Michael Pollan. So much I could say about that but just check it out!! The art of Carl Jung figures a lot in this issue.. as in a pictorial (we dub him the First Psychedelic Artist.. albeit unknowingly) and an article bout liminal dreaming by Jennifer Dumpert. Meredith Heller kills it wth "Why I Teach Poetry Writing to Teenage Girls" (youngin' poems included) Merlyn J. Travis organized a thoughtful overview about the research on Cannabis & Creativity. Check out the interview with badass Danielle Madeira from Another Planet Entertainment. Nina Fry Kizler on the Science of Creativity. West Coast Festival Round up by Meia Mats.. Am really pleased with the way everything came out. Share , love, like, hate. See CommonGroundmag.com. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Common Ground Food issue has been out and getting a sweet response. Commemorates 50 years of Good Earth w Mark Squire interview and 60 years of Chuck and Sue Kesey being married and pioneering probiotics w Nancy's Yogurt.. Plenty of good stories--as Mark escaped the East Coast at 16 to come to Cali in 1969 and has built Good Earth into a fantastic community hub in Marin County.. I wish everyone could visit Good Earth--my happy place!

The Kesey's...well suffice it to say he was on the original Further bus w brother Ken Kesey in 1964 and it goes from there. Deadheads can hear a firsthand account of the legendary 1972 Veneta show that saved the company.. and the 1982 follow up that sealed the land ownership for the Oregon Country Fair..Beautiful romance w Sue.. Who said hippie marriages don't last?

There's a critique of the Impossible Burger.. is it safe? Well, it's verrry GMO, though they cleverly hide that. Call me old fashioned but I am squishy about ingesting synthetic food fermented by lab scientists.. still kinda prefer natural food (preferably organic) out of the ground.. a farm. Hence the pictorial Farm, Food, Gratitude. And the cover!

Saeeda Hafiz explains her trek as a disadvantaged black girl seeking upward mobility and her inadvertent discovery of the yin-yang of food. Shelley Karpaty, a fan of Anthony Bourdain makes the case that he was a yogi, despite himself. Nick Nutu wrote nicely about local foraging. Michelle Perro weaves us through the health challenges of feeding kids in this brave new world of modified foods. All local writers! Thanks! We got a nice reception at Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim.. like share blah blah and gracias!! If you appreciate Common Ground, patronize its advertisers--the best. Our CREATIVITY issue w commemorative interview with Burning Man founder Larry Harvey who sadly died recently. John Perry Barlow also died so we unearthed an obscure essay called "Cassidy: In Memoriam" Check it out...and our pictorial about Our Creative Soul (Life is the Dancer, You are the Dance). Good essay: Deep Souls (Thinkers We Need but Rarely Understand). Pinball Wizardry - yay! A rare 15-year old (NOT on social media) makes her case. There's a fun argument for intoxication and creativity .. and of course our popular and practical West Coast Festival roundup and mucho mas... YAY to CREATIVITY!!
