Bay Area! Join us and Litquake on Oct. 17 @ 6:30 pm at CounterPulse for a listening party debuting three audio lit in translation adaptations. What happens when a work becomes unbound by language, medium, and format? How does meaning and experience shift? How does blending translation, sound, and performance push the boundaries of understanding?

Writer, editor, and voice director Camilo Garzón and special guests, Noelle de la Paz, Monica Cure, and Amanda Nazareno, guide a listening party through three immersive audio adaptations: an Ecuadorian horror story about altitude sickness transformed into auditory terror, Romanian poetry layered with kitsch and nostalgia, and a Japanese short story with sounds and voices pushing the limits of reality. These multiple translations—from language, to audio, to the stage—unbind narrative from any single form, transcending the boundaries of medium, translation, and performance.

Prepare for an odyssey. Our original podcast, To SETL, created by Camilo Garzón, has been named an Official Selection for the Aesthetica Magazine Short Film Festival 2025! This marks the world premiere of our story, which we are honored to showcase in the festival's new Podcast Lounge.

To SETL takes audiences on a journey where science, love, and the unknown collide. A newly married journalist, played by the inimitable , and scientist, played by the powerhouse , are caught in a cosmic storm—both literal and relational—as an unprecedented aurora borealis points to extraterrestrial life.

The festival will take place from November 5-9, 2025, in York, UK, with an online on-demand option from November 5-30.
We are thrilled for everyone to experience this story that inspires us to look beyond our world.

On a bright Thursday evening in June, right as the sun dipped beneath the sky, translation aficionados and Latin American horror fans descended on the Brava Theater Center for Women in the Arts .

Deep in San Francisco's Mission District, a crowd had gathered to experience a multimedia production of Mónica Ojeda's short story "Soroche," translated by Noelle de la Paz and Sara Booker in The Center for the Art of Translation Spring Calico "Through the Night Like a Snake: Latin American Horror Stories" (Two Lines Press, 2024).

With live performance production, live performances, scoring and sound design from my team at Cuentero Productions, the Center for the Art of Translation partnered with us to give voice to the greatest horror of all: the human experience.

How would we bring horror to life at this level, when the greatest horror wasn't visual, gory, or ghostly? The answer: the power of sound and subtle lighting. Here's an audio production that captures what was felt that night.

Without further preamble, here's "Soroche" ⛰ 😱 🎧

NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE! Our audio production of SOROCHE with is now available to listen at the link in our bio.

SOROCHE is a live adaptation of the short story of the same title by Mónica Ojeda, translated by Sarah Booker & Noelle de la Paz in THROUGH THE NIGHT LIKE A SNAKE . teamed up with to create a soundscape production that will bring the story to life.

Trigger warning: toxic friendship, body horror, graphic sexual content, self-harm
