DON BUCHLA - We lost a major musical instrument inventor, builder, and pioneer last week. A maverick of electronic music in a far-ranging career that ran from work with The Grateful Dead to NASA, Buchla was hugely influential in the music business. Here is the link to his obit from last Sunday's New York Times. A very interesting man !

The instruments Mr. Buchla built represented what became known as the West Coast philosophy of electronic music: more experimental and less commercial.
