“Surrender” sounds like such a soft word… until you see what it looks like from the inside of a kennel.

A cat that once spent years in a warm home suddenly finds itself on cold concrete.
The smells are unfamiliar. The noise never stops.
And the person who was their entire world is simply gone - as if all those years never existed.

I try not to judge. Sometimes life truly leaves people with no choice.
But far too often the reason isn’t something impossible.
It’s a move, a new relationship, a change in routine - a small inconvenience that becomes a life-changing loss for a cat.

What breaks my heart most is that they keep waiting.
Every person who walks past that kennel becomes a quiet hope: maybe that’s the one who left me… coming back.

They don’t understand what went wrong.
Because the truth is… they did nothing wrong.

When you promise a home to a cat, life will test that promise.
And who we are is revealed in the moments when keeping that promise becomes difficult. 🥹❤️🐾

My two furry little “alarm clocks” never miss a morning. On weekends, when I just want to sleep in, they have other plans. I even have automatic feeders and water always ready, yet they still climb on me and stare until I wake up. Honestly… I wouldn’t have it any other way. 😹❤️🐾
