Watch our latest piece for MSNBC:

We follow Gregory Finney out of Louisiana's Angola Prison where he served 16 years of a life sentence for a non-violent drug crime. He returns to New Orleans with help from The First 72+, a transition program run by an all-volunteer group of formerly incarcerated people.

Each year 15,000 individuals will be released from the Louisiana prison system and almost half will return within 5 years. Gregory Finney will not be part of that statistic thanks to ‘The First72+’ program.

This week folks from Apache Stronghold will be arriving in DC after a cross-country caravan to rally support in fighting the giveaway of sacred land to Resolution Copper. The issue is finally starting to get the coverage it deserves, with coverage in the NY Times, The Guardian, etc.

Iyad Burnat, one of the protagonists in the Oscar-nominated documentary 5 Broken Cameras, and the brother of the filmmaker, was one of several shot by Israeli forces with rubber-coated steel bullets during the weekly demonstration in Bil'in, Occupied West Bank.

Iyad was also interviewed in our documentary, Occupation Has No Future, as the then-chair of the Bil'in Popular Committee.
