I’ve been a big fan of R3WIRE’s style of DJing and production for years now and every time I get to see him up close is a treat. Even more special was that this is the second time I’ve handed the decks over to him directly here in San Francisco. That’s a unique feeling and one that I don’t take lightly!

Huge thanks to the team at Halcyon for trusting me with direct support, and all my love to everyone who came out early to dance and be there for me and Champagne Kenny! 🙏💜🥰

WARNING: this is a long one! 😜

No DJ plays a perfect set. Ever. But it’s not about what mistakes you make but rather how quickly you recover from them.

Here’s an extended inner-monologue video showing how I recovered from completely missing my first two cues to introduce the vocal. I knew I wanted to get the second half of the vocal and the main chorus in no matter what, so I had to figure out how to make it work on the fly. I think it worked out alright, no? 😅

This is the exact moment I met for the first time. It was last year in April - my first time playing - and I had been tapped to play a two-hour opening set for him. It was a dream come true.

What nobody really knew was that I had been living in our RV for a month at this point to escape from the black mold problem in our apartment, but also leaving me unable to practice DJing or work on music in my studio.

The week of the show, my buddy New Money let me work two 10 hour days in his studio to finish new music for the show. I knocked out two tracks and played them out for the first time in front of R3WIRE (more on that later). The set was basically entirely done on the fly - I’d only had time to put tracks in a folder but no time to practice anything. Talk about nerves!

13 months later, I’ve got round 2 tomorrow night with and myself setting the tone for R3WIRE at . This is going to be such an incredible night and I hope you’ll come and bring the energy with us!
