🐒 Punch’s story has moved people around the world Punch, a baby macaque born at Ichikawa City Zoo in Japan’s Chiba region, was rejected by his mother shortly after birth. Kept alive through intensive care from zookeepers, the young monkey found comfort in a plush toy given to him for emotional security. Videos shared online show Punch tightly hugging his toy whenever he feels scared or uncertain. The images quickly spread across social media, turning his story into a global conversation about vulnerability and resilience. Zoo staff say Punch is slowly learning to socialize with other monkeys and adapt to life within the group. Even so, his strong attachment to the plush toy continues to draw attention from visitors and viewers worldwide. Bullying toward Punch continues.
