Michael Alfuso has been heavily involved in the action sports industry, working closely with the growing longboard skate scene. Alfuso’s close involvement with Abec11 and JET Skateboards and their creation of the documentary web series “Sk8Trip”, has aided in the progression of downhill skateboarding, shedding light on the lives of the athletes and promoting a strong sense of community. After 4 months of work, I'm happy to share this mini-documentary from my time spent at the Cedar Mountain Range in Utah with American Wild Horse Campaign. I'm happy to say this is the most meaningful piece of work in my career so far (both personally and for a greater cause) and I couldn't be happier with the end result.
While it gives me great joy to work on projects that bring me outside, it pains me to document these horses under their current circumstances. My hope is that these animals will one day receive the respect they deserve from the federal government, and be given a fair allocation of land to live their lives peacefully. Standing close enough to a wild horse to look each other in the eyes, fills you with the greatest sense of wonder and humility. You can FEEL their gaze, their power, and their ability to FEEL you as well. This connection we have to nature involves all creatures. All deserve our respect. Non are exempt.

While Team Touchstone's focus is of course to train for comps, it also to offers these kids a chance to learn to push their limits, how to deal with failure, and to grow into a well rounded adult. It's going to be a blast watching this next generation raise the bar for climbing.
