Jen Latch

Jen Latch I believe in helping people & making life fun. In 2012 I started this page as a personal blog called Our Urban Playground. xoxo - Jen

It was a family blog about raising children in San Francisco and making life fun. In early 2015 my focus shifted away from personal blogging mostly due to beginning a career in content marketing and work with Braille Skateboarding. Additionally, as my children have grown their role on my social accounts has changed. So this page is now officially Jen Latch - Welcome. Here you will find my video co

ntent where I ramble and share my latest finds in health and beauty along with general updates from both work and personal life.

We had a great staycation in San Francisco this past weekend to celebrate (a little late 😜) our 20th wedding anniversary this year!

We stayed at the Mark Hopkins, visited SFMOMA and ate wonderful food. Last shots are from a Sunday hike on the coast in Daly City.

24 years with my best friend. ❤️

This year was our 20th wedding anniversary and I realized last night we didn’t do too much to celebrate.

What are some good anniversary celebration ideas?!

September 11th is a date for all of us with much significance. It is also the date my mom died 10 years ago.

September 12th is her birthday, so I actually like to acknowledge her life on this day instead.

I spent some time this morning reading old emails between my mom and I when I was a young, new mom and emails/social media were just getting started. It was fun to see what I said, what I was thinking about and reading her words of encouragement when I was just starting my acting/modeling career and booking gigs.

It was fun to see her emails talking about the recent facial she had gotten, messages to and from 3 year old Chloe & and our jokes.

It was with my mom that laughing until I cried and fell on the floor happened on the regular.

That type of laughter disappeared for a while for me but it has come back and now every time it happens I think of her. That is nice.

The thing I miss most is that as I’ve grown and progressed in life spiritually and professionally, my understanding of her has increased and that makes me wish she was still around that much more.

I know many of my friends have lost parents and loved ones. I want you to know it does get better.

I love you mom. ❤️

This is capturing a moment in my life. A moment where my church cannot open and my children need to be taught through a screen. 📺

It’s interesting that we can find a way for Target to be open but not religion or education.

I’m not anti-science and I do believe precautions must be taken to protect us all, but at what price for humanity?

What if there was a way to upgrade sanitation, hand washing, immunity and overall health and resilience of the human race as opposed to shutting it all down?

What if every San Francisco resident and property owner ensured their city block was fully sanitized?

What if we didn’t just step over people laying in the streets but ensured they weren’t in need of immediate medical attention?

What if we rose up as citizens and brought calm to our immediate zones of control?

These are the things I think about every day. What am I not doing that could make this scene better? How can I contribute?

Who wants to start a campaign with me to take ownership of our own city blocks and then expand from there?
