The San Francisco Bay Times is the largest and oldest LGBTQ newspaper in San Francisco that is now and always has been 100% LGBT funded and owned. In 1978, the SF Bay Times was co-founded by Roland Schembari. (http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Roland-Schembari-Co-Founder-of-S-F-Bay-Times-2773437.php) Co-Founder along with Schembari was general manager Bill Hartman. The Bay Times was the first SF

paper to be published by both g**s and le****ns working jointly and equally together. Journalist Kim Corsaro took the helm as publisher in 1981 and continued in that role for three decades. Since mid 2011, the paper has been co-published and co-edited by Dr. Betty L. The Bay Times provides news and information of interest to the gay, le***an, bisexual and transgendered community in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Bay Time is proud of its heritage of encouraging gay men and le****ns working together and continues today to embrace its role in fostering unity in our community.

That's Juan Davila of the San Francisco Bay Times leaping off last year's Pink Triangle during the installation! He was one of many who helped with that effort. Volunteers are needed for this year's installation on Friday and Saturday. https://www.sfchronicle.com/entertainment/festivals/article/pride-san-francisco-bay-area-22286279.php?fbclid=IwY2xjawSOjrBleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFUcjhOTGo0QTJ3UDk4NGZ6c3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHpeNhlJdVxs_mUNeEBBW4oDWgZWwSYkwiEUg7gGJl6W6e9ethvJsGzlaoyjm_aem_o7qdwU_LBKTA2BKppUE1tg&utm_campaign=mrf-facebook-SFChronicle&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&mrfcid=202606046a2185c165475341596d40e5

This week's Expo presented by the Golden Gate Business Association was packed with LGBTQ+ business owners and allies. If you are not already a GGBA member, or are a former member, consider joining this influential organization that was the first LGBTQ+ chamber of commerce and is still going strong and continuously evolving to match today's challenging business needs. Support for gay marriage in the U.S. has declined, to 65% from a high of 71% four years ago, according to a recent poll from Gallup.

Republicans are responsible for much of this gravitational pull. Democratic support remains unchanged at 87%.

Community Candlelight Vigil
Friday, June 5, 2026 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM PT

As part of Seven Day in June: Health is Primary, we’re participating in a candlelight vigil to lift up the concerns related to HIV, LGBTQ+, and public health funding cuts that will affect all in our communities in the coming years. Join MCC San Francisco as we recognize the leadership that San Francisco has played in building up successful models of HIV prevention and care, call to protect the legacy of these investments, honor the memory of those we have lost to HIV and AIDS, and celebrate the many long-term HIV survivors and other leaders that push our movement forward.
