Record your band's next album with our vintage Ludwig Vistalite kit!
**playing in time not included**

This kit has been on dozens of releases recorded over the past couple years and has really become a highlight of our studio.
For overheads we always use our trusty Vanguard Audio Labs V44s stereo FET mic, and we often use Vanguard's V13 Tube mic on the kick several feet away for that classic sound!

There is no extra fee for using our kit for recording but drummers should bring their own cymbals!🌵

“Como Quien Pierde una Estrella” written by Humberto Estrada Pedro Ramirez and made famous by Alejandro Fernández is one of my favorite mariachi pieces and I’m excited to announce its official single release today on all platforms and my Bandcamp!

This solo guitar arrangement hopefully breathes new life into this beautiful song while honoring and highlighting the importance of Hispanic Heritage Month and showing my appreciation for this art, culture, and music.

Although I was not born into this culture and am of a different race, I am grateful to mi amor Michelle Peña who shared music from her Mexican culture. Mariachi in particular has inspired this entire concept and has helped me connect more with her and her families Mexican culture.

Arranging and playing solo guitar is very demanding, yet I find it to be one of the most rewarding musical expressions as the guitar is really like its own orchestra. The main goal I had in arranging and recording this tune was maintaining that incredibly lyrical melody Alejandro sang from the official recording. I was also very inspired after hearing him perform it live and am ecstatic to have this officially released today!

I hope all people regardless of their background enjoy this new rendition and I hope that I honored its roots.

Our new Audient ASP4816 mixing console and Buso Audio desk have completely reshaped our cozy studio and vastly improved my mixing workflow!
The routing options, parallel processing capabilities and EQs all at our fingertips in the analog domain really makes the whole process more efficient but also more fun in my opinion!
Currently I have my main outboard gear hooked up to the group inserts so if I want to route any number of channels to my Pultecs for example it's done with the routing switches on each channel, rather than using a patchbay or sends from a DAW.
The custom desk includes a heavy duty drawer that fits my 80s JUNO so that's a nice feature as well.

Had a great time recording this weekend, especially since it was the day after playing at Bottom of the Hill and seeing so much of our creative community together at one show! Happy two year wedding anniversary to my amazing wife ❤️
