We recently upgraded our hifi system at Cactus House Recording, and just in time to enjoy all of the vinyl masters we've done this past year! It's been an honor to work with such a variety of great bands and an added bonus that a couple of them (CuVa Bimö, The Lighting Section, Dark Satellite, Dear Motorist, The Strange Ones and Delta Wave) wanted masters for both digital and physical releases! All the bands should be proud of these records and I can't wait to see more local bands cutting their music to vinyl!
I renovated the pictured JBL L100 3-way stereo speakers at the amp repair shop where I work part time (The Amp Lab in Campbell). They actually originally belonged to The Doobie Brothers and needed a pair of new crossovers made and the woofers re coned. Originally these speakers would have been bi amped (with a built in passive crossover for the mid and hi frequency drivers) but now there is an additional passive crossover for the woofers as well. We're powering them with an 80s Carver power amp that I also snagged from working at The Amp Lab :)
