Freedom Plaza
➕ Designed by Venturi, Rauch & Scott Brown, Freedom Plaza redefines urban public space along Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. The design transforms a simple thoroughfare into a ceremonial route, merging historical narrative, modernist spatial planning, and civic engagement. Central to the project is a marble and granite inlay of L’Enfant’s city plan, surrounded by engraved quotes from figures like Martin Luther King, Jr., while the fountain, elevated seating, and envisioned sculptures create dynamic moments of pause and reflection, highlighting the plaza’s innovative approach to integrating form, function, and historical context.

The White House
➕ Designed by James Hoban and continuously transformed by successive architects, the White House stands as an enduring symbol of neoclassical architecture in Washington, D.C. Its symmetrical facades, Ionic columns, and carefully articulated porticos balance formal grandeur with functional adaptability, while interior spaces harmonize circulation, ceremonial requirements, and residential needs. Material choices such as sandstone, stucco, and refined masonry work in concert with structural solutions to convey permanence, elegance, and contextual responsiveness, ensuring the building remains both a functional residence and a historic architectural landmark.

➕ Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, ecently inaugurated in Guizhou, China, the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge now holds the title of the world’s highest bridge, soaring 2,050 ft above the Beipan River. Designed as part of the Shantian–Puxi Expressway, the 0.88-mile (1.42 km) steel suspension bridge dramatically shortens travel time across the canyon—from two hours to just two minutes. Its sweeping span and vertiginous height redefine the limits of bridge engineering, standing more than twice as tall as London’s Shard and nearly nine times higher than San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. Completed after four years of construction, it merges infrastructure and spectacle, turning a once-remote crossing into an architectural and engineering landmark.

+ Twisting across the winding Randselva River, the Twist is BIG's first project in Norway—a striking fusion of art and architecture. Described as a 'habitable bridge,' this innovative structure rotates at its center, creating a dynamic, sculptural path through the Kistefos Sculpture Park in Jevnaker. With 1,000 m² of space, the Twist serves as both a contemporary art institution and a vital link between the forested riverbanks, connecting the largest sculpture park in Northern Europe. Housing works by international artists like Anish Kapoor and Yayoi Kusama, this bridge-museum transforms the visitor experience, doubling the exhibition space while offering a unique artistic journey.

This month brings great news—the reopening of The Vessel in New York City after three years! The structure was temporarily closed for consultations with suicide-prevention experts and psychiatrists to determine how to operate it safely and prevent potential suicides. Now, after all these years, the idea of visiting The Vessel comes back to life, and this time, visitors will enjoy a safer experience.

Designed by Thomas Heatherwick, The Vessel features 154 interconnected staircases and offers stunning panoramic views of the city from multiple levels. Now, after extensive safety upgrades, including restricted access to higher levels and additional security measures, visitors can once again explore this architectural landmark.
