Went to make coffee on this sunny morning after a few days of rain. Well, I guess the snail (?) beat me to it!

Edit: i definitely did not throw the filter out or burn it (not in this economy!!) but soaked it in soapy water and then scrubbed it with more soap. Also coffee machine settings is on the hottest temperature so I’m sure that killed off any remaining yucky stuff.

Edit 2: I am in New Zealand. I have a garden with lots of slug and snail attracting veggies. Not uncommon for them to sneak in.

It looks like a gemstone... but walks on eight legs.
