The independent committee backing Matt Mahan’s gubernatorial bid has booked a Super Bowl TV ad in major California media markets, San Jose Inside has confirmed. City Hall Insiders expect Mayor Matt Mahan to announce a run for California governor tomorrow.

Mahan confirmed today that he is “heavily weighing” a run for Governor of California.

He has lined up a team that is believed to include Adrian Rafizadeh and political consultant Eric Jaye.

If he decides to run, the mayor would be a late-comer to a crowded field in the wide-open race, as the ninth Democrat.

San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan confirms reports he is considering joining the California governor's race. The June primary is just over four months away.
