The other thing that came up is: no one calls them ten-speeds. (seriously dated) they are road bikes - probably because they have way more than ten speeds these days. :-)

A year ago, I finished the first draft of my novel. I'm currently in the re-write phase. I've started the yin-yang process of a new work that is a middle-grade thriller-sci fi / adventure. So once that is through the first draft, I'm back on the thriller / horror for grown-ups. (One time I said Adult and all the people in ear-shot, went, "Oooooohhhh.") Of course they were all kid-lit authors.
