OMWO has passed the halfway mark both in the amount of time left on Kickstarter and the money raised (well past that in terms of money pledged.

OMWO is a high-water mark for creator James Turner, and it's sort of a litmus test for SLG Publishing. James has never done better work than he has with OMWO.

As far as SLG is concerned, this is a test of how well we can navigate this post-distribution world and create an unusual business model.

Not the time nor the place for that discussion, though. Go get OMWO because it's good, very good. Very good and cool.

OMWO is slowly getting support on Kickstarter, but we can use a lot more. The great news is that the general reaction to the graphic novel has been very positive, with the Kirkus review being the highlight.

OMWO is the new graphic novel by Rex Libris creator James Turner and it is now up as a campaign on Kickstarter.
OMWO is the story of a doodle that comes to life and creates a world of its own while on a search for meaning.

Episode Four of My Five Minutes is now available and is 14 minutes long, so maybe I will take next week off. In this episode, I talk about The Grind, that daily drudge, which is really what keeps everything moving. I also relate a story about the day Bone creator Jeff Smith walked into the comic shop I owned.

I have a Q&A episode coming up, so if you have a question that you would like to ask me about anything that I know anything about, which is either a lot or very little, then email me at [email protected] or just leave a comment here.

The future of this thing is pretty exciting for me personally. The truth is, what you are seeing now is sort of me cutting my teeth in production, and you can obviously see the blemishes. But what is upcoming are longer, interview-based pieces with people who make art (music, comics, whatever), getting their perspectives on living a creative life. I personally am very anxious to get this going, and you may see something sooner rather than later.

We are just under three days from our Kickstarter ending, and it has done so well that we are hovering around $4800. I would really love to see this thing kick past $5,000 just because it's a nice impactful-sounding number.

All kidding aside, this is going to let us get our next book, OMWO, into print ahead of its own Kickstarter and give us an opportunity to put a couple of older things back into print.
