From the southern East Coast to the northern West Coast, and everywhere in between this great country Latina-owned businesses continue to shape our cultural and economic landscape — creating spaces where tradition meets innovation and where community thrives.
This week, in our newsletter we highlighted Belen de la Cruz’s business, and we decided to expand the highlight to include several Latinas that are making an impact across the US. So we’re proud to spotlight several Latina entrepreneurs whose work exemplifies the spirit of leadership, creativity, and cultural pride that defines our community.
Belen de la Cruz Empanadas & Pastries — Atlanta, GA
Founded by Belen de la Cruz, this bakery has become a beloved destination for authentic Argentine empanadas and pastries made with heart, heritage, and a touch of home. Each recipe tells a story of resilience, family, and the joy of sharing culture through food.
"I'm so thankful to have a place like Belen de la Cruz in my area. Eating the delicious empanadas and visiting the friendly faces are a weekly tradition for my family that I hope to continue for many years."— Matt Underwood, Marietta, GA
Hot Plate Brewing Company — Pittsfield, MA
A Latina-owned craft brewery and taproom born from daring creativity (yes — brewed on a hot plate when gas was cut off!) ─ committed to craft, community, and inclusion. Their taproom offers beer, gluten-free options, coffee, and safe space for all.
Gonzales Wine Company — Portland, OR
Founded by winemaker Cristina Gonzales, Gonzales Wine Company crafts small-production, low-intervention wines that speak honestly of the Pacific Northwest’s terroir. From aromatic whites to bold reds — and her signature Malbec — Cristina pours her heritage and commitment to equity into every bottle.
She’s also a vocal advocate for vineyard workers, championing more inclusive tasting rooms (including Spanish-language experiences) and equitable practices in the wine industry.
Mujeres Brew House — San Diego, CA
100% female-owned and operated, Mujeres Brew House crafts beer, builds community, and celebrates culture in Barrio Logan. Founded by Carmen Favela, this brewing hub is more than just beer — it’s a space where women lead, Latinx voices are amplified, and craft meets community.
Café Kacao — Oklahoma City, OK
Founded by Veronica Zelada, Café Kacao transforms her grandmother’s Guatemalan recipes into beloved Latin American dishes, coffees, and brunch staples. From deep cultural roots to local acclaim, this café is a tribute to heritage, community, and the belief that “every meal is an adventure waiting to be savored.”
