Tonight's Five Points Session features a house band led by composer and multi-keyboard performer Derek Primo Silbermann. Based in Santa Clara, Derek performs throughout the Bay Area and the rest of the state. You might encounter him playing solo jazz piano, with a reggae band, conducting a choir or composing for tv and other media. With his trio, there will be a mix of his originals and arrangements of everything from standards to Pink Floyd and Nintendo classic themes. Saxophonist Alex Hahn is a longtime collaborator of Michael Bublé, and played with Bublé on his Grammy Award-winning album "Higher." In this gorgeous work, he layers his soulful baritone with spoken poetry, showcasing the affinity of the two art forms.
