Saxophonist Daniel Casares has established himself as a sought-after sideman and compelling bandleader, performing with artists including Ms. Lauryn Hill, John Patitucci and Robben Ford. Driven by his passion for jazz, boogaloo, soul and funk, he teamed up with keyboardist Max Cowan to form Atta Kid, a band that reaches into the swampy lilt of New Orleans while creating an entirely unique sound. Take a listen to a clip of his 2026 Jazz Aid Fund-commissioned original, “More Room to Run” and learn more about the initiative at sanjosejazz.org/jaf.

Bracketed by two exquisite songs from Samara Joy, the lineup includes Stevie Wonder's plaintive holiday wish "Someday at Christmas," Kermit Ruffins' "A Saints Christmas," Norah Jones and crossover star Laufey's "Better Than Snow" and Jackie Gage's "California Christmas" and much more. It's 1.5 hours of music to accompany your errands, cooking, and gatherings! We hope you enjoy it and have a holiday season filled with peace and joy. bit.ly/SJZ2025Holiday
