After more than a decade of shaping the sound of San Jose, Scott Fulton is moving on to his next chapter. From launching the SJZ Boombox Truck to spearheading the build-out of the state-of-the-art , Scott has been a driving force in bringing innovative, world-class music to the heart of the SoFA District.

To celebrate his legacy, the evening features two sets by artists Scott has championed: ZHENIIA, a Persian/jazz fusion project led by Leela Paymai, and New York-based pianist Arnie Sainz, performing alongside South Bay favorites.

“I’m always interested in stuff that’s pushing the boundaries of the genre... I want to see something that I haven’t seen before, and I think that’s what we try to do here.” — Scott Fulton

Opening: Saturday, January 24
On view: January 10 - May 3

“Cul-de-sac” explores the uncanny beauty and quiet tension of California suburbs. Inspired by his background in filmmaking, Crow’s oil paintings evoke the stills from forgotten films, creating scenes that are both familiar and unsettling. Through tidy streets, manicured lawns, and carefully composed light, Crow invites viewers to reflect on identity, race, gender, and the complexities of everyday American landscapes.

Featured: Winter 2016/17 Issue 9.0, “Digital” — Wax Moon

Join Wax Moon for their first complete trio set, featuring Ben Henderson and special guest Tala Newell.

Friday, January 9 · 7:30 PM
No Cover, Donations Accepted
1101 Main Street, Redwood City
Little Green a Plant Bar

An acoustic vocal duo founded in the summer of 2013, Wax Moon originally comprised Paul Kimball and John Blatchford—two friends who met on a musical blind date and formed a new harmonic project. Drawing from the indie-folk Americana tradition, the duo seeks truth and humanism through stripped-down songwriting and rich vocal interplay.

Since then, Benjamin Henderson has joined the fold, slowly assembling what the group describes as an indie-folk Voltron. Special guest Tala Newell will also join the lineup for this performance.
