KCBX Program Director Marisa Waddell is at the Public Media Content Conference learning all kinds of interesting stuff to help make KCBX even better. Today she got to meet a lanner falcon (from Northern Africa, southern Europe and other regions) and a Eurasian eagle owl. The daily show Birdnote brought them. You can hear Birdnote every weekday at 4:49am on KCBX during Morning Edition.

🎶 KCBX FEATURED ALBUM | The Wood Brothers Puff of Smoke 🎶
KCBX Host Janelle Younger calls the title track “a future classic” and recommends Witness + Pray God Listens.
On their ninth album, the Grammy-nominated trio leans into joyful experimentation—blending Latin-inflected guitar, post-jazz rhythms, and sing-along choruses—all while staying true to their roots. Puff of Smoke is a reminder that life is both precious and precarious, and The Wood Brothers invite you to enjoy the ride.

✨ KCBX FEATURED ALBUM ✨
Julien Baker & TORRES team up on Send A Prayer My Way — out now (Apr 18, 2025).
Defiant. Subversive. Raw. These songs wrestle with regret, addiction & power, but also shine with empathy, humor & second chances.
DJ Neal Losey calls it “Americana, Eclectic, and Alternative.” Catch it on 90.1 FM or stream anytime at KCBX.org (link in bio).

KCBX FEATURED ALBUM! Al Di Meola - "Twentyfour"

Released July 19, 2024

"A typical Al Di Meola album will include jazz, rock and flamenco, along with some Latin and world music. This album is no exception, although the emphasis is very much on an acoustic guitar/jazz-flamenco sound. If you're one of those Di Meola fans who enjoy lots of fast, scorching guitar lines and dizzying runs, then you'll find little of it on this album. But if you prefer the softer, melodic, more meditative side of Di Meola's playing, there's plenty here to savour...

It's good to have Al Di Meola back on the music scene and this album is a fine reminder of what a talented musician he is."

George Cole - jazzviews.net
