After 27 years of service and commitment to Palomar TV, we say goodbye to our amazing engineer Mike Janak as he retires today.

He might be a man of few words but his head was always full of critical knowledge, ready to solve just about any problem you threw his way. His crucial role at our TV station through the years cannot be overstated. He provided technical guidance on many of our documentary excursions (some of which involved battling long days and harsh weather conditions), saved many shoots from audio or visual issues, kept our servers and edit bays running smoothly (a daily task in and of itself), supported the classrooms using our studio for their live productions, and generally speaking, was always the go-to man behind the scenes to help prevent and/or solve any technical problem, big or small.

He will be greatly missed, but we do realize it’s time for Mike to enjoy the next chapter of his life. Thank you Mike, for being an integral part of the studio all these years!

We wish you the very best in your retirement!

Amazing review from Film Threat on our film Almost Home!

Wow check out this awesome review just in from Independent Film Guide Film Threat!!

Here's a snippet:

"Directed by Bill Wisneski, Almost Home: Life After Incarceration explores the uphill battle formerly incarcerated individuals face as they reenter society with limited support and overwhelming odds. The film powerfully illustrates how giving hope and structure to people statistically expected to fail can break cycles of trauma and open doors to transformation....The documentary’s narrative is great as it introduces the participants of the program and documentary and just lets the camera roll.
Almost Home: Life After Incarceration doesn’t waste time with theories—it shows a program that actually works."

If you didn’t know who Peter Rogers was, it’s time to check out our newest video highlighting his life.
There are many reasons he’s Palomar College’s 2025 Comet Award recipient. His contributions to the community were many, including being involved in raising money for the Foundation and setting up the Peter Rogers Welding Scholarship at Palomar College.
Unfortunately, he passed away recently before he could receive his award in person. We hope his legacy will live on through this video.

Our documentary Almost Home - Film won another award! Thanks to the Impact DOC Awards for the recognition.

Wow, Almost Home has been honored with another award! 🤩

Thanks to the Impact DOCS Awards for recognizing our film with the Award of Excellence Special Mention - an award that is actually one of the top ten awards from this competition!!

They had this to say: "The judges firmly believe that your entry was exceptional, showing a depth of craft and creativity that is truly unique!"

This is just another testimony to all of the stories shared by those who appeared in our film - without them this film wouldn't have been possible. Your voices ARE being heard and you ARE helping in raising awareness.
Thank you!!
