The Strutters of Texas State University are the largest four year university dance team in the nation. dance team to perform in the People’s Republic of China.

The Texas State Strutters are the first precision dance team formed at a four-year university and is currently the largest in the nation. Since 1960, Strutters have served as ambassadors for Texas State University on state, national and international levels with performances in 26 countries spanning 4 continents. One of the most impressive honors was their selection as the first U.S. Other highlig

hts include: three Presidential Inaugural Parades, numerous NFL & NBA halftime performances, the nationally televised Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade®, MTV’s Total Request Live, a national television commercial for Coca-Cola, appearances in five movies, and “America’s Got Talent.”

⭐️Senior spotlight⭐️
Jillian Martin
During Jillian’s time on Strutters, she was a Lieutenant her second year, Captain her third year and Head Captain her fourth year! Jillian is a self-taught dancer and started her dance journey in 7th grade! Jillian is majoring in Dance Education and has plans to become a dance team director after graduation. Jillian hopes that all Strutters cherish every moment they can and that they make the team so special!

Sally Pittman
During Sally’s time on Strutters, she was a Pom Leader for two years, and a Line Officer for one. She majored in Advertising with a minor in Dance! She plans to pursue a career in Advertising and continue dancing. She views Strutters as a second family, and hopes it will continue to be a place of love and sisterhood for every new member.

Elena Davila
During Elena’s time on Strutters, she served as a Line Officer, Vice President, and President. She majored in Marketing and is excited to work as an Executive Assistant at a law firm in Austin upon graduation. Her favorite Strutter memory was Holiday Spectacular her first year.

During her time on Strutters, Joss served as a Social Officer for 2 years. She majored in Digital Media Innovation with minors in Media Studies and Dance. She plans to pursue a career in digital marketing after graduation. She hopes every strutter grows into their best self and makes the most out of their time on the team. She is eternally grateful for the friendships and experiences Strutters has brought her.

Luciana Smith
Throughout her time on Strutters, Luciana served as Line Officer, Assistant Line Captain, and lastly as Line Captain. She is an Exercise and Sports Science Major with a concentration in Clinical Science. She plans to receive her Master’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science, then go on to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy. Strutters has left a GIANT mark on her heart and she will always cherish the memories made at Texas State University.
