Police are searching for a suspect in the area of 17th and 18th from Gaffey to Cabrillo.

Please avoid the area until further notice.

K9 units will be conducting a search momentarily.

The suspect has been arrested as of 7:30 pm.

A police pursuit that began around 12:30 pm on Friday came to a quick end after the suspect crashed into multiple vehicles at the intersection of 19th and Pacific Ave.

The pursuit was initiated near 19th Street and Mesa and only lasted about a minute before the crash occurred injuring at least six people.

One person had to be extricated from one of the vehicles. At least two of the people were reported to be in serious condition and transported to nearby hospitals. The suspect was also transported for his injuries.

Police could not confirm any additional information at the time of this report.

A man is deceased after a fatal shooting occurred near the intersection of 7th and Grand Ave on Sunday afternoon.

Police responded to calls of shots fired in the 700 block of S. Grand Ave. Shortly after around 4:30 pm. yesterday.

Firefighters attempts to revive the man were not successful.

The victim identified as 25 year-old Vincent Zuniga. Zuniga was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is the 3rd homicide to take place in recent weeks in the Northern San Pedro area.

On September 28th another man was shot to death in the El Pollo Loco parking lot. No further details have been released.

And on September 17th 60 year-old Carlos Lopez was found beaten and stabbed on a sidewalk near 2nd and Mesa Street. He later died at a nearby hospital.

None of these incidents appear to be related.

Two people are dead after a violent shooting in San Pedro.

The shooting occurred around 4pm Thursday afternoon . One person was pronounced dead at the scene the second later died at the hospital.

The shooting took place just feet from the San Pedro Adult School, and right next to a memorial that had been set up for someone that passed away recently from another incident.

It's unknown what the motive is at this time.

The Victims were both males ages 18 and 45 years of age. No further info was available.

- Update San Pedro Standoff 7:00pm
Suspect in custody

The standoff between LAPD and a stolen vehicle suspect has come to a peaceful end.

The incident began around 3pm this afternoon when police officers requested additional units in aiding in a traffic stop of a stolen vehicle spotted in the Wilmington area.

When officers attempted to make the stop, the vehicle failed to yield to the officers sirens and it become a pursuit which quickly entered the 110 South and excited at before stopping in a parking lot next to Sepulveda and Gaffey street.

The suspect continued to refuse to exit the vehicle at which point K9 officers were called in to assist due to the suspect possibility using narcotics.

After several unsuccessful attempts by the K9 unit to apprehend the suspect it was then handed over to the SWAT team.

After nearly 4 hours of work by crisis negotiators and a SWAT team the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

North and Southbound Gaffey street between Summerland and Santa Cruz and remain closed for an unspecified amount of time for police activity.

SWAT is responding after a brief pursuit of a stolen vehicle out of Wilmington has turned into an hours long standoff with the suspect who continues sitting in his vehicle in the San Pedro Gas and More parking lot on Gaffey.

A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle last night in Wilmington.

The incident occurred around 8:45 pm while the victim was riding his bike in the area of Wilmington Boulevard and G Street when he was struck by the vehicle.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene leaving the victim in the road.

Police and firefighters arrived shortly after to find the man already deceased.

The victim has now been identified as 28 year-old
Junior Valle of Wilmington.

No information on the suspect vehicle was immediately available.

Around 1:40 pm LAPD received a call of a shooting on 14th and Beacon.
Officers arrived and found evidence of a shooting but no victims.

Within minutes a second shooting was reported in the Wilmington area along the 500 block of Neptune.
At that scene officers discovered a male with gunshot wounds to the abdomen. The victim has been transported to a trauma center.

The suspect from the Wilmington shooting was taken into custody a short time later.

There's no further information on either shooting, police are on scene investigating.

Harbor City- A man is currently barricaded in an apartment building located on the corner of 262nd and President Ave. Nearby residents are currently being evacuated due to shots being fired from inside the location.

Additional law enforcement units and the fire department are responding to assist in operations.

No injuries have been reported.

More details to come.

Update 5:15 pm
The suspect is still barricaded as SWAT and crisis negotiators continue to try and bring this incident to a peaceful conclusion.

Update 6:50 pm
We are now hearing that around 6:30 pm the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. We have not heard of any reports of injuries. And hopefully we will have more details to provide later.
