In the 1960s, one of the hardest parts of going to the Moon wasn’t the rocket it was the spacesuit.

The suit had to work like a small atmosphere: full of air and pressure to keep astronauts alive, but still flexible enough for them to move and work.

The company that solved this was Playtex the same company known for making bras and girdles. Their skill with strong, stretchable materials made the Moon suits possible.

In 1962, during the space race, President Kennedy visited Cape Canaveral to see the Apollo program. The Saturn V rocket stood 110 meters tall and was the most powerful rocket ever built at the time. The U.S. built 13 of them, sending 26 astronauts toward the Moon before the program ended in 1972. 🚀

The Space Age 60s a true milestone in history.
