Michigan based film company focused on telling strong story through the visual medium of film. The name TroubledJoy is a reiteration of our goal with our films. We are passionate about telling the story of Christ in engaging, entertaining, and inspiring ways. To do so, we are striving to be conscious of and address the world's very real problems. We want our films to be real and without a superfic
ial sense of perfection where everything is all perfect and characters resemble cookie cutters rather than actual individuals that struggle with and through life. Hence the "troubled" portion of our name. Yet, at the same time, while acknowledging the fallen-nes of the world, we ask our viewers to remember that there is still Hope. We still have a destiny and a purpose and that all the glory is simply a reflection of Jesus - the Ultimate Joy. We want to make a point to show that we have a future and something for which to live. The best art (in any form) is art that is able to effectively combine the two concepts of "trouble" and "joy" together and not leave one out of the equation. In TroubledJoy Films productions, we want to be deliberate in showing that everything doesn't always work out in the end the way we had dreamed -- BUT that Christ is faithful. He will never ever leave us on our own. We can walk through the challenging times with Him and trust that He has a much bigger and better plan in mind.

Our first production was a community funded, education driven, 20-minute-short-film drama based on a true story called "Blueberries" (www.facebook.com/BlueberriesTheMovie) where the crew was able to experience the atmosphere, process, and protocol of a professional film set. TroubledJoy Films' second production is currently in writing and development stage. Stay tuned for more details as the project continues.
