He was a car salesman, pilot, director of consignments at Mecum and was considered "The Professor" when it came to classic muscle cars. John was also a guitar playing collector. He passed a few days ago after battling a "brutal" illness. Car guys around the world know him and will remember him for his enthusiasm and intellect in the car hobby. He will be remembered.

John Kraman, well-known in collector car circles as "The Professor" on Mecum auction TV broadcasts, has died at 68.

Mecum's beloved voice, John Kraman has passed away. Mecum's statement below.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of one of Mecum's cornerstones, John Kraman.

John played a pivotal role in the growth and success of Mecum Auctions, serving as a consignment director and becoming the unmistakable voice of Mecum since our television debut in 2008. His dedication to positioning our brand in the best possible light was more than a career—it was his life’s mission.

John set the standard for excellence, demanding accuracy, precision and the highest quality in everything we did. He wasn’t just part of Mecum Auctions; he was Mecum Auctions, living and breathing its essence every day.

A mentor, a legend, a Mecum cornerstone, our family.

Still the Best! Mustang sales are up, way up!. The Mustang recorded a 54% sales increase in August compared to last year.
