Sandusky Arts Council is excited to announce that the 2025 season of the Lawn Chair Music Series will kick off on June 27, with a 5 concert line-up. July 4 falls on a Friday, and for the first time, we will not have a concert that evening; concerts on the holiday are usually not well attended, as people are going to see the fireworks.
We are continuing our tradition of bringing top notch entertainment to our community, presented free of charge, on the courthouse lawn, for the summer. According to Kevin Kohn, Sandusky Arts Council President, “Last year, our attendance was down because we had to contend with a lack of parking and poor access to the courthouse lawn due to the disruption caused by the construction on M-46. This year, with the construction completed, we’re hoping for higher attendance as our audience returns to again enjoy an evening of fun and entertainment.”
Sandusky Arts Council has been producing the Lawnchair Music Series since 2008. We have booked local entertainment, as well, as entertainers from around Michigan, many of whom have had exposure on the national, and even international, stages. The Accidentals, Danielle Bollinger, Greg Hind, and Greta Van Fleet are just a few of the more well-known acts that have graced our stage.
We are only able to produce a quality series with the generous support of our sponsors, local businesses who donate to Sandusky Arts Council. Their generous support pays for the bands to appear on the stage at the Gazebo. Please be sure to patronize these local businesses and thank them for their generous support in bringing our shows to you, so that you can enjoy them free of charge
Here is our schedule for Summer, 2025……...
June 27: Motor City Wranglers are new to the Lawnchair Music Series, covering classic and contemporary country and rock music.
July 11: Count-N-Change is a new fan favorite, returning from last year. While the weather changed our venue that night to Maple Valley, County-N-Change didn’t miss a beat and gave the audience a concert to remember. They are a dance band covering hits from the 80’s through the present.
July 18: Showdown was initially formed in 1977 and has been entertaining audiences with classic rock for almost 50 years. The current band members have been playing together since 2008.
July 25: Journey—Infinity and Beyond is a tribute band to Journey.
August 01: Bernadette Kathryn is another fan favorite, returning with her contemporary country sound.
This year we are excited to again produce a podcast of interviews with our bands to be released in advance of our season. These can be accessed through twitter or a link from our website or page.
In case of inclement weather, the Sanilac County Health Department is allowing us to move our concerts to the Maple Valley building. We will post signs and get the information on the radio if we make that move. We appreciate the Sanilac County Health Department for allowing us access to their building.
