It's the Best of Sandusky 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣5️⃣! From the Today Show shining a national spotlight on Sandusky for Tommy Boy Fest to expanding access with SNAP & Senior benefits at the Sandusky Farmers Market, 2025 was a year full of fun, growth, and hometown pride.

Here are 10 moments that made Sandusky shine in 2025 👇

1️⃣ Sandusky Witches' Walk earned not one, but TWO Guinness World Records 🧙‍♀️🏆
2️⃣ Columbus Avenue Streetscape reopened, transforming downtown with wider sidewalks, outdoor dining space, overhead string lights, and modernized underground utilities
3️⃣ Tommy Boy Fest celebrated the film’s 30th anniversary, bringing national attention and celebrity guests to Sandusky, along with a lot of laughs
4️⃣ SNAP & Senior benefits were added to the Sandusky Farmers Market, a goal many years in the making
5️⃣ The Sandusky Christmas Market grew bigger and more festive than ever, with additional huts and vendors, and downtown businesses getting into the holiday spirit too
6️⃣ New businesses opened (hello Sandusky Scoops, The Emporium at West Market Street, Cheekz Burgers, Wild Thistle, Sandusky Pedal Company, Sora & Oak Sushi & Whiskey Bar, and Toast at the Sandusky Wine Merchant) alongside expansions and continued success for longtime favorites
7️⃣ The launch of Sandusky Sunset Celebrations, giving us a weekly reason to gather and admire our world-class Sandusky Bay sunsets 🌅
8️⃣ Northern lights sightings… in Sandusky, Ohio (yes really, and it was magical!)
9️⃣ Bonus events like the Waffle Iron Run, allowing young athletes to be part of Ironman 70.3 Ohio activites
🔟 Strongman Champions League made its U.S.A. debut in Sandusky, Ohio AND was filmed and released onto Amazon Prime (really, go check it out!) 💪🎥

🧙‍♀️💫 Thanks to the incredible support of our community, Sandusky Witches’ Walk is proud to share how this year’s fundraising has been transformed into real, meaningful impact across Sandusky and beyond.

💗 $15,000 — Donated to Whitney Lockwood of Fremont, Ohio, a dedicated registered nurse courageously facing a cancer diagnosis, providing direct support during a critical time.

🤝 $10,000 — Donated to the Kiwanis Club of Sandusky, supporting their mission to serve children and families through youth leadership, literacy, and community-focused programs.

🎨 $2,000 — Donated to Chalk It Up! Sandusky, helping keep this free, family-friendly community art event accessible while celebrating creativity and connection in our public spaces.

💻 $1,000 — Donated to the Sandusky Recreation Department to cover one year of internet service for the Mills School building, ensuring programs, learning, and community activities remain connected and accessible for all.
