Having diabetes is hard. Seeing your life experience represented in an authentic and positive way can be powerful. So excited to hear that Barbie just came out with a and can’t wait to buy it. Day 1 to bring Hoot to life and we are 15% funded. It's too early to say if creating Hoot will be able to happen but it brings me hope as each backer joins us and supports this project. Meet HOOT! A plush owl with a removable HIP cast and Rhino Brace. I have created the samples of Hoot and really hope to bring HoOT to life and into the arms of many children who need to have surgery.
With the current unpredictable situation in the US and tariffs - I am really uncertain if this project makes sense right now.
However, 3 million children have surgery in the US every year, and having a plush toy that represents their life experience would be a vital tool and comfort during an uncomfortable and difficult time.
I don't want politics nor policies to prevent HOoT from coming to life and I'm hoping that you don't either - so please consider supporting this project and thank you, so much for giving a HOoT about children who need surgery!

So excited about everythings arrival. I have already done two trips to the post office to mail everyone's books and other goodies and I have a few more trips to go. I am waiting to ship all packages to backers in Massachusetts in hopes that you will be able to attend the book launch + pick up party!!!

Can you help? It is important to show as accurately as possible what children will see and experience when they go to the hospital. We need some inspirational pictures to help the wonderful create her illustrations for the book.
