Jesus said that whatever we do to the least of these my brethren, we do also to him. Our mandate is to go to the least in society: the poor, despised, orphaned and imprisoned. We have come to realize that often they are all the same person. The children who grow up abused, beaten, molested and abandoned, --these are the ones who end up in prison --who in turn leave their children at home with the wolves. They are twice beaten.
I realize now why Jesus is so concerned about prisoners. They are different than we are. They know they need Jesus.
He was still trying to save prisoners even while he was dying as one.
