Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we prepare for the start of the school year, our team is working hard to complete the finishing touches on the new high school, move in, and ensure our students are settled and ready to learn from day one.

We know the excitement is building, and we share your eagerness to see the incredible new facility. We’re proud to announce that we will be scheduling tours soon, giving families and community members the opportunity to walk the halls of the school that you helped make possible.

This campus is truly something special—spectacular in every way—and stands as a testament to what can be accomplished when a community comes together to support its schools. We cannot wait to show it off!

Thank you for your continued support and patience as we wrap up this exciting transition.

Regards,
Dr. Tommy Hunter
Superintendent
Sanger ISD

⭐️Did You Know? Sanger, Texas ⭐️

Tucked along I-35 just north of Denton, Sanger, Texas has roots stretching back to the days of the railroad. The town was founded in the late 1800s as a stop along the Santa Fe Railway, named after the Sanger family, who operated a prominent chain of dry goods stores across Texas. The railroad put Sanger on the map — and it’s stayed put ever since.

Agriculture was king in the early days, with wheat and cattle helping build the local economy. In fact, Sanger quickly became a regional hub for grain and livestock trade, and that small-town, hardworking spirit never left.

Education has always been a point of pride here. Sanger ISD traces its roots back over 100 years, and the Sanger Indians have carried the town’s pride onto the field season after season. The school’s athletic programs, especially football and track, have long been known for tough, gritty competition. The town rallies behind their team like it’s a Texas tradition — because in Sanger, it is.

And here’s a fun one: the area just west of Sanger is known for Lake Ray Roberts, a popular fishing and camping destination that draws thousands every year. But long before it was a lake, it was farmland — and many Sanger families can still point to land their ancestors worked before it was covered in water.

From railroad roots to Friday night lights, Sanger is a town built on grit, history, and heart.
