Sanger Herald We are a weekly newspaper, published every Thursday by Mid-Valley Publishing The Sanger Herald is one of Fresno County's oldest newspapers.

The Sanger Herald is located in Sanger, California, one of the fastest growing communities in Fresno County, the heart of California's San Joaquin Valley. It is the oldest business firm in Sanger. It was established in October 1889, a year after the founding of the town. It moved to its present location, 740 N St., in 1948. We cover Sanger Apaches football, basketball, soccer, track, boxing, water

polo and other sports. We write about lifestyles, city council, Sanger Unified School District and police and fire news. Mid-Valley also publishes four other weekly newspapers: The Reedley Exponent, Fowler Ensign, Parlier Post and Orange Cove-Mountain Times, and the Dinuba Sentinel.

The Sanger Branch Library is hosting a pop up book sale for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 22, on the library patio at 1812 7th St. Cost is $5 per bag for all the books you can carry, or you can purchase per item.
Also scheduled is a Sanger Depot Museum sale featuring rummage items and antiques. There will be free tours of the Depot. A food
truck and snow cones will sell items on site.
On Monday, Oct. 24, the library will host a performance at 6 p.m. by Wadaba Kourama, master drummer from Guinea, West Africa.
Sanger Friends of the Library will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month. For more information on these events, call (559) 696-2332.

Joaquin Zamora, Recreation Supervisor for the city of Sanger, wants the public to know that the Sanger Cooling Center – located in the City Annex Building at 1789 Jensen Avenue, is open today through Tuesday, July 9, to provide shelter from the heat for those who need it. The National Weather Service forecast calls for high temperatures in Sanger of 108 degrees Saturday, 109 Sunday and 106 on Tuesday.
