Four new releases have joined the Funk the Planet heavy rotation, each bringing a different flavor to the modern funk and soul spectrum:

💓 Crackazat & Clara Hill: “I Want You to Know (My Heart Beats Slow)”

A collaboration years in the making, bringing Clara Hill’s rich, layered soul vocals together with Crackazat’s warm keys, deep grooves and jazz-house instincts — sophisticated electronic soul with an intimate, late-night pull.

🪩 Kridelka feat. Chanda & The Passengers: “Give It to 'em”

Classic disco energy rebuilt for the modern dance floor — Montreal producer Julien Kridelka takes Chanda & The Passengers’ funk-and-soul foundation and gives it a vigorous contemporary disco treatment that practically demands movement.

💼 Chetti: “THE ONE”

The opening statement from the concept EP Much Love, Chetti, Vol. 1, introducing a stylish collision of house, R&B, indie pop and disco-soul — turning the pressures of buttoned-up 9-to-5 life into something made for release, movement and the dancefloor.

🐝 Naesh - Naesh's Music: “Honey Bee”

Bright, polished funk-pop and nu-disco with a 70s/80s glow — smooth vocals, modern pop sheen and an easy feel-good pulse from a Bay Area artist bringing classic dance-floor influences into a fresh contemporary setting.

Hear all four in heavy rotation alongside the best new funk, soul, boogie, disco, jazz-funk and global grooves from talented artists around the world on Funk the Planet Radio.

Five nights. Five different corners of the funk universe. 🌎🔥

If you love the Minneapolis Sound, New Jack Swing, old-school hip-hop, today’s new funk, or classic boogie, Funk the Planet has a night built for you:

💜 Monday: Manic Purple Mondays
Prince, associates, Minneapolis Sound favorites, and the artists who carried that funk-rock-pop DNA forward.

📻 Tuesday: New Jack Attack
Teddy Riley-era swing, hip-hop-infused R&B, and the sound that owned the late ’80s and ’90s.

🎤 Wednesday: The B-Boy Hip-Hop Rewind
Old-school hip-hop, Golden Era classics, and the pioneers who built the culture.

🌍 Thursday: A Brand New Funk
The newest funk, neo-soul, nu-disco, acid jazz, and groove music coming from artists around the world right now.

🪩 Friday: The Boogie Nights Express
’70s and ’80s boogie, funk, and R&B made for the dancefloor.

Every weekday from 6–8 PM Pacific.

And when the specialty shows are over, the funk keeps going 24/7.

What if the problem isn’t that people stopped loving funk — but that they stopped being exposed to the new artists making it?

Millions of funk and soul fans still love Prince, Parliament-Funkadelic, The Gap Band, Cameo, Zapp and the legends they grew up with. But while streaming has made almost every record imaginable available, algorithms can also keep us comfortably surrounded by more of what we already know.

Meanwhile, incredible new funk and soul is being released every week — often by artists whose natural audience has no idea they exist.

That frustration is a big part of why I created Funk the Planet.

My new blog post, “If You Build It, Will They Come?”, looks at the gap between longtime funk and soul listeners and the artists carrying the music forward — and why I believe curated radio can still help bridge it.

The artists are already here.
The listeners are already here.
Funk the Planet is here to introduce them to each other.

Four new releases have joined the Funk the Planet heavy rotation, each bringing a different flavor to the modern funk and soul spectrum:

⏳ Patrick Adams: “Time (The Trac MIX)”
A soulful midtempo groove with some weight behind it — Patrick Adams reflects on family, responsibility, and time slipping away, pairing an infectious pocket with a message about making a better way while we still can.

☎️ Oreaganomics: “I Used to Call Mary”
Quirky, soulful and sharply observant, turning the frustration of our increasingly automated world into an unexpectedly catchy groove about what happens when human connection gets replaced by machines.

😇 Son Of Pearl: “My Piece of Heaven (The Groovy Gravey Remix)”
Warm, bass-driven Mellowfunkism with plenty of personality — a romantic groove given an extra dose of funk in the Groovy Gravey Remix.

🌈 Nic Hanson Music: “All Works Out”
Bright, upbeat modern funk-pop with an irresistible feel-good energy — breezy, melodic and exactly the kind of track that earns another spin.

Hear all four in heavy rotation alongside the best new funk, soul, boogie, disco, jazz-funk and global grooves from talented artists around the world on Funk the Planet Radio.
