On this day 9 years ago, I sold my bakery, Cuppie Cakes And Sweets to pursue my first passion, becoming a teacher.
Since first grade, it’s something I knew I wanted to do, and as I got older, and as I developed a love for literacy, teaching English quickly became my ultimate goal at the time.
When my wife accepted a job as a school resource officer (police of schools), and she found out they had an opening for a 10th grade English teacher, it was a no-brainer. I had just finished by bachelors degree in English, I had just become burnt out on running a bakery (it was mostly fun…till it wasn’t 😂) so I took the leap!
I’m so happy I did.
I’m blessed to say that since this day 9 years ago, my passion has only become stronger. I love what I do. I love serving kids and the families that have the most amazing responsibility of raising them. I love that I GET TO be what I’ve always wanted to be as a child.
Throughout the years, I’ve made sure this message has been posted oj every classroom, and now, office wall “Follow your dreams. Dream without limits.”
Happy educator anniversary to me! 🎈
