Episode 371 features Gardenwalk from Catonsville, Maryland. They are featured at this year’s 5th annual PTR Fest at Fish Head Cantina in Halethorpe, MD, just south of Baltimore. They will be hitting the stage at roughly 6pm so get there early! Gardenwalk channels melodic gaze-core, drawing from shoegaze, post-hardcore, and alternative. Their sound juxtaposes delicate vocals with atmospheric grit, balancing fragility with catharsis. They are currently in the process of writing new music and I featured a short snippet of one of their new demos called “Playlist for the Moon.” In the interview, I spoke with Shaina and Brad. We talked about starting a new band after playing in many bands over the years, the Baltimore music scene, and much more.

Episode 370 features Eggs On Mars, a chill indie art rock band from Kansas City. We talked about working at a library, sending emails and getting no responses, the Kansas City music scene, and a bunch of other stuff. I featured their track “I Came Home 2 Find Nothing Had Changed Except Me” on this episode, if you like it, you can stream it wherever you listen to music. Thanks for listening and supporting local artists.

Episode 369 features longtime friend of the show Pat Duffy of the Pat Duffy Band, a high energy blues rock trio hailing from New York City featuring Pat on guitar and vocals, alongside Steve Conroy on bass and Max Yassky on drums. We’ve played several shows together over the years, so it was great catching up with Pat and Steve as the band continues releasing new music, including their latest live album, Nine Bodega Cats... Music from Arlene's Grocery, recorded at the legendary Arlene's Grocery in NYC. On this episode we feature their track “Ten Miles Gone” and talk about everything from Pat’s life as a teacher and the NYC music scene to songwriting, the guitar as an instrument, and much more. Thanks for listening and supporting local and independent artists.

Episode 368 features Nashville-based Americana songwriter Kevin Daniel. Hailing originally from North Carolina, Kevin brings a rich, soul-stirring blend of southern rock, gospel, blues, and heartfelt storytelling that he calls “Y’allternative Rock.” After years honing his craft in Brooklyn and building a reputation as a dynamic live performer, he’s now calling Music City home and continuing to turn heads with his powerful voice, honest songwriting, and high-energy shows.
Kevin’s musical journey took a profound turn after the tragic loss of his parents in a plane crash in 2013. That grief and celebration of their adventurous lives fueled his debut EP FLY, and he’s since released a string of acclaimed projects including Myself Through You, Things I Don’t See, Been Here Before, and his latest full-length The Life & Adventures of Kevin Daniel (via Organic Records). He’s shared stages with artists like Brittany Spencer and Mary Gauthier, toured extensively across the US, UK, and Mexico (often 100–150 dates a year), and earned praise for his ability to weave rock, soul, roots, and Appalachian influences into deeply personal songs. I featured his track “Bless Your Heart” on this episode. It’s a great example of Kevin’s signature mix of wit, warmth, and raw emotion that captures the spirit of Southern life with a modern edge. If you love authentic Americana with grit, soul, and plenty of heart, Kevin Daniel is a must-listen. Catch him live when he rolls through your town, and stream his music everywhere now.

Episode 345 features Mike Huff from the Philadelphia band BEES! They’re a self-described arcade rock band, and we’re playing a show together this Saturday (November 8th) at Double Nickel Brewing in New Jersey, just outside of Philadelphia. We’ll be playing alongside our good friends The Mack Brothers and Naive Nature. This is Mike’s second or third time on the show, and we’ve been fortunate to become friends and play a bunch of shows together over the years. BEES! was one of the first bands to come on the podcast whose music I feel is truly unique and classic in its own way, largely because of Mike’s voice. On this episode, I featured “The Other Day” as well as one of their latest tracks, “If You Ask Me,” which you can stream wherever you listen to music and download from their website (listed below). Thanks for listening and supporting local artists.
