Iāve been a stay at home mom for 5 years now and I feel like I finally have a system down that really works for me! Donāt get me wrong not every day is perfect but I always try to follow this template for my days at home with the kidsāŗļø
If youāre going to try one thing from this list make it be 1 load of laundry a day! Even if I donāt get the load put away at the end of the day, I would much rather have piles of clean clothes than piles of dirty clothesš¬
This is just crucial for us. If I donāt unload first thing in the morning then all of our dishes throughout the day are piling up in the sink. It just leaves so much more work at the end of the day.
Not gonna lie I always feel so good this one. Not leaving a mess in the sink is the bestšš¼
Some days we do a quick 10 minute stroll and other days weāll walk for an hour! It all works and feels great to get fresh air and move my body.
Iām so lucky and grateful that my toddler enjoys playing independently so getting ready for the day is easy for me. But Iāve been on the other side of this with my first born. He was a stage 5 clinger and refused to play independently. I had to get creative on activities he could do nearby me. My biggest piece of advice is a āyes drawerā or āyes cabinetā of stuff you donāt mind them getting into and exploring. They think theyāre cool getting into new stuff thatās not toys, but really youāve picked the items and know itās safe for them to explore.
This was a little harder when my toddler was younger because he would just undo all of the cleaning we were doing, but as heās gotten older itās much easier!
Iām honestly starving by 4pm anyways so I just love an early dinner!
I really pride myself on pockets of productivity. I am not go go go all day long being productive. I love to sit down and play with my toddler and read him books, but I also love to let him be independent when he wants to. So thatās my time to be productive or get some work done!
