This is a project I’ve been working on since the hiatus of Skratchpad LA, and it’s something I hope everyone will support and take pride in. A little background on the concept behind this brand:
Since 2011, turntablist event crews Skratchpad LA, Skratch Funktion LA, and Skratcher LA have provided havens for djs/turntablists of all skill levels & experience to congregate & share the love and passion of this art through skratch sessions, showcases, and battles. We all come from different crews/cities/backgrounds, and although each of us strive to be the best when we are battling, sessioning, and creating, there's no big egos (we save those for battles 😉); just love, mutual respect, realness, and support. One can’t help but feel motivated, inspired, & blessed knowing that you’re surrounded by talented, skilled & humble people. With this ideology, we have produced many local, regional, national, & world champions within a short timeframe, and garnered respect from around the globe. It’s a culture & spirit unique to the LA dj/turntablism scene & something that I hope to share and spread through S3. DJing and turntablism has become more global, producing crazier and creative talent by the day. Much love and praises to everyone here in Cali, the US, and around the world for keeping this art and culture alive and evolving. Praises to .la all chapters and many others who have kept the scene alive here in SoCal and beyond. To celebrate our growth and accomplishments and to keep this movement moving, the first release of this brand will be a special limited edition collaborative black/white shirt (aka the “DJ standard issue”) between Skratchpad LA, Skratch Funktion LA, and Skratcher LA.
