Pascual here;
It is with a very heavy heart that I write this status, wishing our dear friend George Adelo farewell from this Earth.
I have known George for most of my life as he was a longtime friend of my father as well as a very prominent figure in the local music scene. I have many fond memories of playing music with him during pick up jams at local get togethers, as well as seeing him play with his band many times over the years.
Aside from all this, I owe George a huge debt of gratitude that I think should be known as part of his legacy as a friend and attorney.
Several years ago, in the first year of Kronos Creative, we had our biggest event to date and the venue management pulled the plug on it due to some issues with their own event security.
This situation threatened to completely derail this company and was a black cloud on our reputation as the biggest and most reliable metal promoter in northern NM.
Due to some unfortunate communications with the venue management in the wake of this, I had to reach out to legal counsel. Because I had known George so long, I decided to reach out to him to at least get an idea of what kind of debacle we were looking at. We knew we were in the right on this, but bringing in a lawyer was going to be prohibitive regardless of the outcome.
George, being an eternally kind and generous soul, not only gave us some advice on how to handle the situation, but he went out of his way to make himself available to us as our legal counsel if need be. Thankfully his initial advice was plenty to get us covered and the situation blew over without a hitch.
I thought I'd quote him here from an email he sent during our talks on that issue:
"F**k em and get on with doing positive work."
Thanks for being such a wonderful person and a big influence on our awesome little music scene.
Local icon remembered for his music, generosity.
