One of the voices you’ll hear at the World Ayahuasca Forum 2026 is Dennis McKenna! 🌿

For many decades, Dennis McKenna has been part of the evolving conversation around psychoactive plants, ethnobotany, consciousness, and the relationship between humans and the natural world.

His work is deeply connected to the history of the Ethnopharmacologic Search for Psychoactive Drugs (ESPD), which is a tradition of bringing researchers, ethnobotanists, practitioners, and knowledge holders together to explore the many dimensions of psychoactive plants.

Our latest volume, Ethnopharmacologic Search for Psychoactive Drugs, Vol. III: 55 Years of Research, celebrates that legacy and the generations of inquiry it has inspired.

Wisdom is carried.

From generation to generation, through stories, ceremonies, relationships, and ways of living that hold the memory of those who came before.

On International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, we honor the elders, knowledge keepers, storytellers, and communities who continue to carry Indigenous ways of knowing forward.

In Grandmothers’ Wisdom, Indigenous grandmothers share teachings shaped by generations of lived experience and relationship with the Earth. In The Bear Is My Father, Marcellus Bear Heart shares his journey as a Muscogee Creek medicine man and caretaker of Sacred Ways, preserving teachings entrusted to him while passing them onward.

These books remind us that wisdom is something lived, tended, practiced, protected, and carried forward.

Today, we honor the Indigenous peoples around the world keeping these ways alive, for the generations here now and those still to come.
