In an effort to address the dangerous — and sometimes deadly — walk released inmates face on their way from the Santa Fe County jail, the county and Blue Bus are teaming up to offer free on-demand rides beginning Tuesday.

Jail staff will help released inmates schedule rides, and the county will cover the usual $1 fare, making the rides free.
