When doing live sound (and also in the studio) it's sometimes hard to remember to capture what's going on.... May has been a busy month both in and out of the studio. From the live side (some pictured when I remembered to) the month kicked off with the Santa Fe Symphony Youth Mariachi, followed by the album release show (not captured in the moment, but plenty of evidence out there). Then there was with Robert Mirabal. at The Bridge. Tim O'Brien and Jan Fabricius at San Miguel Chapel. More Nosotros at Nuckolls Brewery on the Railyard, and High Desert Rangers at . PHEW!!!! What did I miss???!!!???

In the studio, work has begun mixing two albums, plus work on a few other projects..... Stay tuned!!!!

There is a snare at the studio that I have named "Buck Nekked". It is a beautiful 8"x14" maple shell with a natural finish. Some of you have tracked with it. It is one of my favorite snares in my collection. It was made by Mark at I was lucky enough to go and hang with Mark in Las Vegas and geek out over at his shop, see his process, and hear about some upcoming new cool ideas and designs.

In addition, we have known each other for close to 30 years. We took a bit of a walk down memory lane trying to recall some adventures in our previous lives.... Yikes....

It was a great hang. I highly recommend checking out his drums. He does amazing custom work!!!

We're baaaaack! There's a new recording studio in the heart of downtown Santa Fe, with a new owner … sort of. Starting this month, the recording facility at 528 Jose Street, previously known as The Kitchen Sink, will have a new name! Tim Schmoyer is taking over as the sole proprietor—rebranding the recording studio as Engine70 Studios! This may be a new name here in Santa Fe, however, this was the studio name Tim had back in Boston prior to moving to Santa Fe. He has kept the name dormant for the past ten years, and this month he's bringing it back to life! Stay tuned for details on our Engine70 Studios Open House, taking place early summer ...
