Zee Ntuli’s empowering anthem for ActionAid subverts traditional wedding imagery in a rebelliously joyful way, ignited by powerful performances and moving to a layered and resonant soundscape.

Leveraging surreal imagery to capture profound human emotion, Ntuli’s visual poem utilizes the natural world to elevate the young girls’ childlike wonder and electric sense of agency.

Blinding white heels gleefully messied by playing in mud, the hug of emerald foliage, students chirping as birds, with contagious happiness–he is intentional in what each filmic vignette tells us.

In a visual language rich with symbolism, metaphor, and lyrical sensory imagery to the deep and powerful message, “I’ll Marry When I Want” is a visual poem that honors the real words of 13-year-old poet Eileen Piri.

Lunar rotation. The revolution of a clock. A spinning camera. Ntuli’s poetic spot for Audemars Piguet never stops moving. Honoring centuries of chronometry, this visual epic circles like a sundial, like a clock, like a planet.

Maureen Hufnagel’s “It’s Our Home” gives the youngest advocates a voice for change.

With a narration that cleverly plays on the trope of alien invasion, our adorable protagonist Louisa highlights the significant role current sustainability efforts play for the younger generations.

For this story, nailing the tone and young and s***ky performance of the protagonist was key. The precise, quick narrative pace amplifies the comedy. The child actress’s enthusiastic, matter-of-fact delivery endeared her to us, even as she shut off water and demanded timely refrigerator selections.

Hufnagel’s cinematic eye elevates how the ordinary home setting plays on the narration’s allusions to the sci-fi genre. We begin immersed in the twinkling brilliance of the night sky. We explore the rain-painted gardens and glowing washing machines with the wonder of an ambitious child’s perspective.

A rich soundscape, mischievous pacing, a personality-filled wardrobe–Maureen sews vibrant personality into every frame of this portrait of a young girls’ love of her planet.

We have a digital universe in our pockets. But that allure can be an addictive and hollow black hole of mind numbing scrolling. Jeremi Durand’s powerful “Use Digital Without Digital Using You” for Sync crafts a visual language of a surreal dystopia to visualize that threat.

The trap of impossible beauty standards. The prison of doom scrolling. The menace of misinformation. Durand leverages every element of storytelling to craft an ominous tone, from the droning soundscape that sends shivers down your spine to the flash of blue tight tendrils and towering masked men.

The protagonist reacts to each visual metaphor, symbolic of the dangers of our digital sphere, with a horrified instinct to escape. This lyrical film recontextualizes the everyday realities of new technology within the dystopian genre to spotlight the risks they pose.

Building a terrifying glimpse into a society where the digital world has dominated every sphere of human life, Durand allows us to reflect on our relationship with technology.

Eleanor is a progressive, innovative production company that celebrates talent and, true to its name, shines a light on visionary directors.

A heart-racing cinematic thriller comedy Zee Ntuli's “Easter” for KFC mesmerizes entirely.

An adrenaline-soaked visual tapestry textured by a bone-chilling soundscape, this film's unique tone parodies the horror genre, spotlighting the consequence of its narrative’s magical element.

We open on our protagonist’s status quo–the magic of infinite KFC sits in his passenger seat. And yet, the narrative immediately introduces us to the consequences of such a talisman. Our breath catches, a laugh bubbling on our lips as interest plays across our face.

The ebb and flow of the textured soundscape, ominous score rising with the gaze of the neighborhood upon the bewitched bucket, build the story’s tension.

A surreal and striking portrait of the immanent and transcendent beauty of life, Zee Ntuli’s visual poem for Woolworths submerges audiences in lyrical, sensory snapshots of our world.

The flap of butterfly wings. The connection between father and infant. The weaving threads in a sweater. The weathering threads of a galaxy. Frames lush and alive capture a rainbow of emotions and sensory experience.

Sometimes you can only start to see the big picture by looking closely at the miniscule details. This resonant sonnet for humanity dares to say that it is the small and textured moments that make our universe.

A musician’s old photograph. The delicately layered sounds of practiced drums. A son’s eyes sparkling with the wonder of an artist in the creative state. This film moves to a lively, carefully rising rhythm.

We stay hooked to the narrative as our understanding of the characters and their dynamic unfolds with the progression of the story and the evolution of the soundscape. Many musicians’ stories are told as solo creative journeys. This piece seems to start as a solo and then, as the the connection between a boy in his dad is unveiled, becomes a duet.

Every element of visual storytelling–the soft light, the dynamic camera, the harmonious, layered soundscape–immerse us in the protagonist’s lifelong love for music. Music is the art that shapes his experience of his world and the craft that unites him with his hero, his bandmate, and his father.

Written in a dancing, cinematic visual language, Duran Sodré’s love letter to shared musical passion unfolds the heartwarming story of a father and son’s unique creative connection.
