The house at 1028 E Hobson is finally getting demolished after sitting abandoned for an extended period, with squatters being evicted numerous times, and allegations of theft to nearby businesses. City officials say the property owner agreed in a public hearing to demo the property themselves, but never followed through, forcing the city to take action.

Cub Scout Pack 143 is back! A Great Opportunity for Families

As summer winds down, excitement is building for the return of school...and Cub Scouting! Pack 143 at Sapulpa Methodist offers boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade the chance to grow in character, citizenship, and faith. Scouting teaches lessons through hands-on activities, teamwork, and service so that kids grow while they are having fun. With meetings resuming August 25th, now is the perfect time for families to consider enrolling their children or grandchildren in this dynamic and faith-friendly program.

Pack 143's end-of-the-year parent survey speaks volumes. In response to the three survey questions asked:

"How likely are you to recommend Cub Scout Pack 143 to others?",
"How likely are you to invite friends/family to join Cub Scout Pack143?", and
"Did you feel Cub Scout Pack 143 was a good value for you and your family?"
Pack 143 scored 9.83 out of 10 on all three questions asked. All of the families said they planned to return this year!

Cub Scouts provides more than just outdoor adventures—it fosters values that align with faith teachings, including respect, responsibility, and compassion. Kids not only build friendships but also deepen their understanding of self respect and integrity.

Families will find Cub Scouts to be a natural extension of your child's spiritual upbringing, reinforcing those principles in everyday life. Scouting strengthens family bonds by offering a supportive parent community. Come and absorb strategies for working with children that will strengthen your parenting skills, helping both parent and child.

Enrolling your student, refer friends and neighbors, buy delicious popcorn, or volunteer as a mentor. Now is the time—don’t miss the opportunity to be part of something meaningful this fall. Call for more details, 918-633-1247.

Veterinarians, law enforcement agencies, and others use a standard called the "Purina Body Condition System" to measure the condition and health of a dog to determine whether a change needs to be made in the animal's care. It's frequently used as a way to tell if a dietary change is needed, but can also used by police to determine if a pet is being properly cared for.

According to this system, an "ideal" condition would be a 4 or 5 and include having the ribs with minimal or normal fat covering, with the waist easily noted. Dogs that are ill or not being fed or cared for regularly may have lower scores. Dogs that are overweight and varying levels of obese would have a higher score, all the way up to 9.

Last week, Creek County Sheriff Deputies found a Kellyville couple with dogs that went from 4 all the way down to 0. Read about what they saw: https://sapulpatimes.com/kellyville-couple-arrested-on-animal-cruelty-charges-after-police-find-dead-and-severely-emaciated-dogs-on-the-property/
